Throughout United States history, the American Military Veteran has continuously sacrificed personal welfare to protect our country's freedoms. Many veteran's return home with disabilities that dramatically affect them and their families for the rest of their lives. While all veterans need to be accorded benefits as a heartfelt thank you from a grateful nation, disabled veterans need extra special attention and assistance. The Over60Exchange is proud to be able to help in this effort.

Based on the above need, the Over60Exchange is pleased to announce a special "Good Deeds" Program that will focus on assisting disabled U.S. military veterans. The two organizations selected by the Over60Exchange Advisory Board to launch the Good Deeds program are:  

OVER60EXCHANGE "GOOD DEEDS" PROGRAM     Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) and Disable American Veterans (DAV)    The Over60Exchange will make a donation to each of the above veteran organizations from both the membership fees and advertising revenues in the name of the Over60Exchange membership. Funds donated to both organizations will be designated to specific programs identified by the organization at the time of the donation. Our initial goal is to donate one million dollars to help these two organizations.   Please spread the word! About Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund:  Website  http://www.fallenheroesfund.org The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Begun in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, and established as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003, the Fund has provided more than $65 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. These efforts are funded entirely with donations from the public, and hundreds of thousands of individuals have contributed to the Fund. 100% of contributions raised by the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund go towards these programs; all administrative expenses are underwritten by the Fund's Trustees.    About Disabled American Veterans:   Website  http://www.dav.org/Default.aspx    The 1.2 million-member Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c) (4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America's disabled veterans and their families. The DAV was founded in 1920 by disabled veterans returning from World War I to represent their unique interests. In 1932, the DAV was congressionally chartered as the official voice of the nation's wartime disabled veterans. With our brave Americans leaving the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, the DAV's services and advocacy are as relevant and critical today as in any time in our nation's history. Annually, the DAV represents more than 200,000 veterans and their dependents with claims for benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense. The DAV's Voluntary Services Program operates a comprehensive network of volunteers who provide veterans free rides to and from VA medical facilities and improve care and morale for sick and disabled veterans.
